The name of a province and its form, spelling and abbreviation are to be decided by the provincial toponymy authority, with the agreement of the Government of Canada. One uses "province of New Brunswick" for the geographical entity, "Province of New Brunswick" for the provincial administration, "New Brunswick" as the short form, and "N.B." as the abbreviation.
