A partir des classes de sensibilité déterminées à la section précédente nous avons placé sur la carte du Québec chacun des lacs selon leur teneur en calcium (faible tampon et tampon élevé) et la sensibilité des eaux de surfaces (acidifiés, intermédiaires, tamponnés). Pour déterminer l'indice de saturation on peut utiliser soit l'adjectif "calcique" soit la locution "de la calcite". Le terme "calcique" signifie "relatif au calcium"; il est moins précis que "calcite" qui désigne le carbonate de calcium (CaCO3), forme la plus répandue du calcium dans la nature.
