In 1992 CLD [Compliance and Laboratory Division] purchased new instrumentation, the Automess, to replace the RATO-F. It has been ascertained that the uncertainties associated with the Automess readings are similar to those of the RATO-F, i.e., a reading of 2.6 mSv/h is deemed to demonstrate a true reading in excess of 2 mSv/h.
