An intelligence test for children ages 5 years 0 months to 15 years 11 months developed and standardized in 1949 on a group of white children. The scale consists of twelve subtests, one of which is an alternative performance test.... Also known as WISC.

... the Wechsler-Bellevue Intelligence Scale (1939), was designed for adults; it was followed by the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (1949) and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (1955).
