A number of proven innovations are being incorporated in new engine designs. These include the use of a larger fan to increase the by-pass ratio; internal mixer nozzle on the primary exhaust ducts, which reduces noise and increases fuel efficiency; and acoustically absorptive linings in the inlet duct, fan duct, and tailpipe to reduce turbo-machinery noise.

Un certain nombre d'innovations éprouvées ont été incorporées aux nouveaux modèles de moteurs. Ces innovations comprennent l'utilisation d'une soufflante de plus grandes dimensions pour augmenter le taux de dilution; l'installation d'une buse-mélangeur interne sur les conduites primaires d'éjection, qui a pour effet de réduire le bruit et d'augmenter le rendement du carburant; des revêtements insonorisants dans la manche d'admission, le conduit de soufflante et la buse d'éjection afin de réduire le bruit des turboréacteurs.
