L'Association pour l'intégration sociale (AIS) est un organisme communautaire sans but lucratif qui a vu le jour à Rouyn-Noranda en décembre 1976 et [a été] constitué en 1981 sous l'appellation de Comité de parents d'enfants handicapés[. En 1992, le Comité change de dénomination pour devenir l'actuelle Association pour l'intégration sociale. Depuis ce temps, l'AIS ne cesse de continuer la lutte pour l'intégration sociale des personnes handicapées intellectuelles [ou] physiques.
