The Armed Forces Epidemiological Board (AFEB) serves as a continuing scientific advisory body to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs and the military Surgeons General. The AFEB provides timely scientific and professional advice concerning operational programs, policy development, and research needs for the prevention of disease and injury and the promotion of health.
