A generalized, acute, rapidly fatal disease in neonatal puppies [caused by a canine herpes virus]. In puppies older than 3 weeks and adults, mild to unapparent upper respiratory disease or vesicular genital lesions occur.

Maladie contagieuse due à un Herpès-virus adapté au chien. Les jeunes chiots y sont particulièrement sensibles, ils meurent en 48 heures. Chez l'adulte c'est une infection sexuellement transmissible qui donne de la vulvite-vaginite aux femelles, de la balano-posthite aux mâles et de la conjonctivite dans les deux sexes.
