Most of the sediments and their metamorphosed equivalents within the western part of Quetico Belt have at one time or another been referred to as Couchiching, a name applied by A.C. Lawson in 1888 to metamorphosed sediments that occur below the Keewatin lavas in the Rainy Lake area. The term has since been used for sediments and their metamorphosed equivalents in various parts of Quetico Belt, (...) Located in Ontario.
