Crête allongée continue, de dimensions variables, formée de glaçons poussés sur le rivage par les vagues, le vent et la marée. Les ondins glaciels peuvent atteindre 15-20 m de hauteur, dans certaines régions. Ils ont parfois été confondus avec les levées glacielles qui sont beaucoup moins hautes.
