John Kim Bell. Conductor, administrator, pianist, composer. He established in Toronto in 1985 the Canadian Native Arts Foundation (CNAF), to increase awareness of the artistic opportunities for, and to develop the potential talent of, the Native people through education. The foundation held a benefit concert at Roy Thomson Hall, 8 Feb. 1987, that featured the US performer Bernadette Peters, Native singer Eilleen Twain, and Native guitarist Donn Ross. Bell produced and, with Miklos Massey and Daniel Foley, composed the score for the contemporary Native ballet In the Land of the Spirits, which was performed at the NAC in 1988.

La fondation organise au Roy Thomson Hall, le 8 février 1987, un concert bénéfice auquel prennent part l'Américaine Bernadette Peters et deux autochtones, la chanteuse Eilleen Twain et le guitariste Don Ross. Bell réalise et, avec Miklos Massey et Daniel Foley, compose la musique du ballet autochtone contemporain In the Land of the Spirits, qui est présenté au Centre national des arts en 1988.
