Non-Q-wave infarct (subendocardial or non-transmural infarct) is defined as an infarct where there is involvement of an epicardial rim of myocardium.

Dans certains cas, l'infarctus n'est pas transmural; il n'intéresse alors qu'une partie de l'épaisseur du myocarde, c'est le cas des infarctus sous-endocardiques et rudimentaires (...). Les couches profondes du sous-endocarde ventriculaire gauche sont électriquement muettes: les infarctus incomplets qui s'y localisent ne se traduisent pas par des ondes Q de nécrose mais seulement par des altérations de la repolarisation portant sur le segment ST et l'onde T.
