BIL (band interleaved by line) format line data are arranged in the order of band number and repeated with respect to line number.

CONT

The two formats that imagery data are most commonly stored in are called band interleaved format (BIL) and band sequential format (BSQ). In BIL format, each record on the tape contains one line for one band of data.

BIL (Band Interleaved by Line): l'image est stockée sous forme de succession de pixels de la même ligne dans chacune des bandes. Le format BIL permet d'obtenir un compromis entre les deux précédents formats [BSQ (Band Sequential) et BIP (Band Interleaved by Pixel]).

Le mode BIL veut dire Band Interleaved by Line (bandes entrelacées par ligne) alors que BIP signifie Band Interleaved by Pixel (bandes entrelacées par pixel) et BSQ Band Sequential. C'est juste la façon dont on va enregistrer les informations de différentes bandes.
