Doctrine selon laquelle un organisme d'accréditation peut apporter un élargissement ou un agrandissement à une unité de négociation déjà existante par l'ajout d'un nombre d'employés, pour quelque raison que ce soit (accroissement du personnel de l'employeur, acquisition d'une autre usine par achat ou fusion, etc.), lorsque ces employés occupent des emplois à l'intérieur des classifications déjà couvertes par l'accréditation ou effectuent un travail similaire, puisque l'existence d'une communauté d'intérêts respecte la substance et la portée intentionnelle de l'unité initiale.
