Prévision d'impact des carburants liquides végétaux en France. (...) Le méthanol (...) peut rapidement trouver un débouché notable en mélange avec l'essence. (...) On peut espérer construire 2 à 6 grandes usines produisant au total 300 000 à 900 000 tonnes de méthanol par gazéification du bois. (...) Le programme mis en place en France à la suite du Conseil des Ministères du 14 janvier 1981 doit favoriser l'introduction des carburants liquides à base de matières végétales dans le secteur des transports sans modifier le système de distribution. Plusieurs opérations de gazéification de bois suivies de synthèse de méthanol ont déjà été initiées.
