The EMU Electrical Harness (EEH). ... is a set of communications wires and bioinstruments that is worn by the astronaut inside the suit. It provides connections to the radio and bioinstruments in the suit's backpack. Une connexion électrique est nécessaire pour brancher les instruments médicaux qui surveillent le rythme cardiaque de l'astronaute. Elle est aussi nécessaire pour les systèmes de contrôle du scaphandre [ou de la combinaison] et pour l'équipement radio qui sert de liaison entre l'espace et la Terre. Pour ce faire, un harnais électrique est relié au torse supérieur rigide (HUT) du scaphandre sas. Pour l'enfiler, l'astronaute doit lever les bras et entrer dans le torse supérieur et passer la tête dans l'ouverture du cou. Une fois à l'intérieur, le vêtement de refroidissement et de ventilation au liquide se branche à l'équipement de vie principal.
