The Market and Policy Analysis Division is generally responsible for the analysis and evaluation of the performance and structure of the grain industry and the development of policies and programs, with respect to both domestic and international matters, with a view to improving industry performance. The Division also participates in the assembly and analysis of market information to assist in the identification of marketing market development opportunities and the formulation of initiatives for their exploitation. There are also domestic statutory programs, such as the Prairie Grain Advance Payments Act, which are the responsibility of the Division.

La Division de l'analyse du marché et de la politique est, généralement parlant, chargée d'analyser les accomplissements et la structure de l'industrie céréalière ainsi que d'élaborer des politiques et des programmes à caractère national aussi bien qu'international qui viseraient à en accroitre le rendement. La Division participe également à des études de marché dans le but de découvrir de nouveaux débouchés et de formuler les politiques nécessaires à leur exploitation. Enfin, la Division est aussi chargée d'administrer des programmes nationaux découlant de certaines lois : par exemple, de la Loi sur les paiements anticipés pour le grain des Prairies.
