This Policy is a framework for determining if the federal government should financially support an international sport event, and if so, to what extent. The policy articulates the Government of Canada's role in hosting. It is also a means for the government to evaluate the merits of hosting proposals as they are submitted, measuring them against criteria included in the Assessment Guide, an annex to the policy. Cette politique est un cadre permettant de déterminer si le gouvernement fédéral devrait financer une manifestation sportive internationale et, le cas échéant, dans quelle mesure. La politique articule le rôle du gouvernement fédéral pour ce qui est de l'organisation de manifestations sportives.
