Un des buts principaux du poste d'enrobage est de réaliser un dosage fixé du liant, et de maintenir ce dosage constant. [...] La première méthode consiste à ne pas interrompre le flot de granulats [...] et à le mélanger avec un courant également continu de liant. La seconde méthode consiste à travailler par «gâchées» c'est-à-dire à prélever, dans le flot continu de granulats amené par le prédoseur, des fractions successives qui sont pesées séparément et à les mélanger avec des quantités de liant également pesées ou simplement mesurées volumétriquement. Ces deux méthodes, bases essentielles des postes actuels, ont des variantes. Il existe des postes à fonctionnement discontinu volumétrique (préréglage pondéral) et des postes à fonctionnement continu pondéral.
