Pour éviter de dégrader le poisson, de plus en plus de pêcheurs utilisent le lasso, instrument très astucieux qui fonctionne comme un collet : c'est un nœud coulant de câble tressé, fixé à un manche métallique.

Le serre-queue est plus pratique et moins encombrant que l'épuisette si vous devez marcher quelques kilomètres en forêt.

OBS

Ainsi, quand le saumon, par exemple, est complètement épuisé, on ouvre le nœud coulant pour former une large boucle que l'on glisse autour de sa queue; on referme la boucle et le poisson est pris.
