As part of the project to develop and standardize tools for environmental monitoring of dredged-sediment ocean dumping sites and for protection of wildlife habitats near them, Environment Canada's Environmental Protection Branch retained Géophysique GPR International Inc. to map the topography of dumping grounds off Anse à Beaufils using a combination of geophysical methods.

Dans le cadre du projet de développement et de normalisation d'outils pour la surveillance environnementale des sites de rejet en mer de sédiments de dragage et la protection des habitats fauniques qui les côtoient, Géophysique GPR International Inc. était mandaté en octobre 1993 par la Direction de la protection de l'environnement d'Environnement Canada, Direction des sciences biologiques, pour réaliser une cartographie tridimensionnelle des dépôts de déblais de dragage au large d'Anse-à-Beaufils au moyen d'une combinaison de méthodes géophysiques.
