Gyroscopes can be described as space reference devices, the direction of which can be changed by the application of appropriate torques; it is basically a spinning wheel having an important kinetic momentum. The axis of such a wheel will maintain a fixed direction (i.e. high angular stability) in space if no disturbing torques are present. Such a device is used to maintain a fixed inertial orientation, while the rest of the system is in motion. 2, record 1, English, - angular%20stability

1, record 1, French, - stabilit%C3%A9%20angulaire
