The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) was set up in 1947 by ECOSOC. It is one of five regional commissions of the United Nations … Its major aim is to promote pan-European economic integration. To do so, UNECE brings together 56 countries located in the European Union, non-EU Western and Eastern Europe, South-East Europe and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and North America. All these countries dialogue and cooperate under the aegis of the UNECE on economic and sectoral issues. La Commission économique des Nations Unies pour l’Europe (CEE) s’emploie à stimuler la croissance économique durable parmi ses 56 pays membres […] Pour réaliser cet objectif, la CEE : Fournit un forum pour la communication entre les États; offre un cadre de négociation pour les instruments juridiques internationaux liés au commerce, au transport et à l’environnement; Communique des statistiques et analyses économiques et environnementales. La CEE, en tant que plateforme multilatérale, facilite l’intégration économique et coopération entre ses États Membres et promeut le développement durable et la prospérité économique à travers : le dialogue; la négociation d’instruments internationaux; le développement des règlements et de normes; l’échange et l’application des meilleurs pratiques, ainsi que l’expertise économique et technique; la coopération technique pour les pays en économies de transition. La Commission contribue à augmenter l’efficacité du l’ONU à travers la mise en œuvre au niveau régional des résultats des conférences mondiales et des sommets de l’ONU.
