Jointage. Cette opération a pour but de réunir deux feuilles de placage de même épaisseur par leurs chants préalablement dressés (...) Le premier procédé réalisé a été le jointage longitudinal. L'assemblage de 2 ou 3 feuilles aux chants seulement dressés était tout d'abord effectué au moyen d'une bande de papier collant posé, après mouillage, à la main ou au rouleau portatif (...) Aujourd'hui (...) ce jointage est exécuté mécaniquement par une machine spéciale, obligeant le maintien du contact des deux chants à la main et comportant une bobine de papier gommé qui, en se dévidant, passe sur un tampon mouilleur avant d'être appliqué par pression sur le joint (...)
