L'idée de base consiste, à partir d'un moteur à soufflante avant, à éjecter le flux secondaire, (...) par deux tuyères latérales situées à l'avant du moteur alors que le flux principal (...) est éjecté par deux tuyères latérales mais à l'arrière du moteur. (...) Le Rolls-Royce BS-53 "Pegasus" qui équipe le chasseur (...) Hawker P-1127 est actuellement le seul moteur à tuyères rotatives construit en série. Les tuyères peuvent pivoter de 100 degrés, donc créer une faible poussée.
