In most of the English-speaking world, jurisprudence is the science or philosophy of law.
- In the jurisprudence course, students will examine the reasoning behind court decisions.
In North America, jurisprudence also refers to the body of previous court decisions, which is properly known as case law or precedents.
- Our group undertook an analysis of Canadian jurisprudence (or case law) since the Charter of Rights came into effect in 1982.
