Haida

Whether used as a noun or as an adjective, Haida is always written with an upper case H.

Haida is rarely used in the singular (i.e. in reference to a single person). The preferred plural form is Haida (although the plural may also be written with an s).

  • The Haida live along the coastal bays and inlets of Haida Gwaii, formerly called the Queen Charlotte Islands.

Haida is also a language.

  • Haida is spoken in Haida Gwaii and on the adjacent coast of Alaska.
